Those First Weeks at Home
The car ride home from the hospital felt surreal — every bump in the road seemed bigger, every glance back at their baby filled with awe. When they finally stepped through the front door, everything felt new. The house, once familiar, now held a quiet magic.
They unwrapped the swaddle carefully, marveling at every detail: the gentle rise and fall of tiny breaths, the soft squeaks and sighs, the barely-there hairs at the tips of their ears. Time slowed as they traced each delicate feature, afraid to miss a single moment.
That first night, sleep barely came. Instead, they whispered dreams and promises to their baby, their hearts full of love and wonder. It was the beginning of a lifetime of noticing, of cherishing every little thing.
These fleeting moments deserve to be remembered. I know how exhausting those first days are — you might feel too tired to even think about hiring a photographer. I felt the same way.
But capturing those tiny yawns, stretches, and soft little breaths was so worth it. The newborn days pass in a blur, but having those precious memories preserved means you can relive that feeling again and again.
Like in the evening, when you are exhausted, and your baby is finally asleep but you already miss them.
